NPP INTRODUCED ALMOST ALL SOCIAL INTERVENTION POLICIES IN GHANA – AFENYO MARKIN

May 19, 2018 • Africa

Member of Parliament (MP) for Efutu Constituency, Hon. Alexander Afenyo-Markin has stated that almost all social intervention policies introduced in Ghana have ridden on the back of a New Patriotic Party (NPP) – led government.

He made this statement on Friday, 18th May, 2018, when he was contributing to issues being discussed on Multimedia owned Adom TV’s morning show, Bedwem.

According to the legal luminary, poverty alleviation and social intervention policies such as National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS), School Feeding Program, Free Maternal Care, Metro Mass Transit (MMT), National Youth Employment and so on and so forth all came into being during the NPP – led Kufuor administration.

The Efutu legislator added that even though President Akufo-Addo is less than two years as president, he has been able to roll out the Free SHS as well as the Nation Builders’ Corps (NABCO) policies among many others, and still counting. The Mills-Mahama led administrations never implemented any policy that ever ran parallel with any of the social intervention policies implemented by any NPP administration, the MP opined.
