The victory chalked by Kingsley Agyemang should, indeed, serve as a bait for everybody to brighten the corner where they find themselves, no matter how little this corner may be.
Registrar of the Ghana Scholarship Secretariat, Mr. Kingsley Agyemang, has been rated as one of the most distinguished appointees of the Nana Addo administration.
The exercise which was carried out by the Association of Aids of Regional Chairmen of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), focussed on rating 2018 best performing Ministers, Deputy Ministers and Chief Executive Officers (CEO’s) of public institutions.
Ministers whose names came up in the list were Hon. Afriyie Akoto (Minister of Agriculture), Hon. Dan. Kwaku Botwey (Minister of Regional Reorganization) and Hon. Joe Ghartey (Minister of Railway Development). Names of Outstanding Supportive Deputy Ministers included Hon. Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum (Deputy Minister of Education), Hon. George Oduro (Deputy Minister of Agriculture) and Hon. Martin Agyei Mensah Korsah (Deputy Minister of Regional Reorganization). Hon. Kwadwo Oppong Nkrumah (Minister of Information) was named as the most visible minister. In the area of CEO’s, names that came up were Mr. Boakye Appiah (Managing Director of the Electricity Company of Ghana), Mr. Hanan Abdul Wahab (Managing Director of Buffer Stock), and finally, Mr. Kingsley Agyemang (Registrar of the Scholarship Secretariat).
Mr. Agyemang’s success was chalked as a result of the strifes made by him to decentralize the Scholarship Scheme. This, according to the association, made scholarship acquisition more accessible to all including those at the district levels – preventing the unnecessary bureaucratic quagmire that used to be associated with the centralized nature of the scheme.
